OUR FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What’s the average build time?

We get asked that a lot, but because no two projects are ever the same, no site conditions are the same, and no clients are the same it is basically impossible to provide a reliable average build time. We understand exactly how overwhelming it can feel to take those first steps into starting your new custom home build, and timing is of course a key consideration. Once we know a bit more about what your needs are we can help put together a timeline for your project.

Do you provide a square metre rate?

An average home contains hundreds of different ‘ingredients’ including carpet, bricks, tiles, taps, sinks, paint, timber, glass, etc. All of these materials come in different qualities. On top of that, the way in which these materials are assembled into a finished house differs in quality and attention to detail.

The variances are almost infinite. So comparing one builder’s price of $1,000 per square metre to another’s price of $2,000 per square metre is exactly like trying to compare an orange with an apple. The differences are many, not just the price.

The reality is, with custom build projects there is no set square metre rate as this depends so much on the type and size of home you are after. A square metre rate can be useful at the outset when formulating a starting budget, however, this figure would then need to be solidified into something more meaningful through the quoting process. A proper quote requires the builder to fully understand your plans, scope of work, site conditions and time constraints.

What insurances do you hold?

We hold top rated indemnity insurance, construction insurance and third party liability.

How long will it take to build my home?

We cannot provide a timeline estimate without understanding the scope of your project. However, once all the details are in place, we will provide you with a detailed timeline that can also be viewed on your client portal, keeping you up to date with progress.

Do you take care of council approvals?

Yes we are a one stop shop and have a great relationship with the local planners and building surveyors. We understand the process and information required to ensure a quick process time.
